Forest Snowfall

I don't really have much to say (just waiting on DH to get home so I can make us some dinner), but thought I'd post a little progress pic now that Forest Snowfall is starting to take shape.

Thanks for all your comments on my cute niece and tooth trouble.

On Thursday my Quaker Friendship RR returned home. It is gorgeous! Thank you to Edgar, CarolR, Wendy, Donna and Valerie for stitching on it. I love it, and am thrilled to have it back. I hope to get this framed.



I mentioned in my last post I was going to start something new, and I did! I have started on Forest Snowfall by Country Cottage Needleworks.



I'll leave you with this cute picture of Petal. She's really settling in and even spent a couple of hours outside in the sunshine this afternoon. We really love her! :-)

No stitching pics from me. I've been visting the niece and I haven't been in good form. I went to the dentist yesterday as I'd had a minor niggle in one of my teeth. It turned out the tooth had split in half, and I had to have it removed. I have been in agony since and nearly fainted in the shower this morning, although I am at last starting to feel better now. I think I might go and find something new to start :-)

I have a niece!

She arrived today and weighed in at 5 pounds 13 ounces. She doesn't have a name yet, but she's very adorable! Here is a photo of me having a cuddle with her.

Chart giveaway

I have now finished 'You are my sunshine'. I decided that I did not like the zig zag border, so just finished it up with the simple red line. (I have noticed with my scrapbooking endeavours that I'm all about straight lines and simplicity!)

Tanya commented that her Mother used to make her sing 'You are my sunshine' when she was a little girl. My Grandad loved to sing, and this was one of the songs I can remember him singing to my sisters and I when we were young too. That was the reason I bought this chart :-)

I hope you've all had a lovely Easter. We have had some cracker weather, so have been out and about enjoying it before Winter truly arrives. Here are a few pics of our Easter escapades to Cape Palliser and around Wellington.

Sunshine and Petals

I have made some progress on 'You are my sunshine'. I am enjoying this piece and will hopefully get it finished within the next couple of days.



Last night I adopted Petal. I have been visiting her at animal rescue for quite a few weeks now (we didn't want to bring her home until our cats had settled after the house move).

She has had a rough start in life (you can probably tell from looking at the photo that she is disfigured - and she was not born like that), but from now on she's going to be very pampered!



I am off work now until next Wednesday, so I plan on spending this afternoon stitching and keeping warm (the hills have a slight dusting of snow this morning... winter is definitely here). We have quite a lot on over the Easter break, including the arrival of my sister's baby on Tuesday at 1pm (it's a scheduled c-section).

I can haz your new footrest...

OH went out and bought a footrest this evening, and it's already been comandeered by our biggest cat (Giggsy)!



I wasn't feeling the love with the House Mouse design, probably due to the fact it is being stitched on Aida. So I pulled out a new start. I have had this 'Daffodil' fabric from Countrystitch for ages, and I had a brain wave the other night and thought it might suit La D Da's 'You are my sunshine'. So far so good.



I will go back to the House Mouse design and finish it off, just not right away.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I can't wait until Easter next weekend, as I have taken some additional time off so I have an extended break. Yay!

Glad that's over...

Moving house was no fun at all!

Today sees a return to normality. The internet is finally connected and our cats have stopped freaking out.

Although Tiggy didn't move house as such (it's the same old hutch), she is enjoying her new surrounds - so at least one of the family has been able to take it easy over the last six days :-)



I have only managed a few stitches, so no stitchy pics. Hopefully there'll be some stitching to share in the near future.
