Genealogical shenanigans

My wedding sampler is now done. Yay! It was a fun stitch. The chart is all packaged, stamped and ready to be sent off to Jayne. I'll look forward to seeing hers finished later in the year too.

Here is a (terrible) photo of Autumn Splendour, which I also finished earlier in the week. This chart is off in the mail to Tanya.

Kathy and Beatrice invited me to join the Mirabilia SAL. I thought it would spur me on to finish Damask Roses which I started in 2006. I shouldn't need spurring on, it is such a beautiful design. I don't remember the last time I stitched on her, so I am quite excited to be getting back to it.

We were recently tracked down by some relations (some from England and some from New Zealand), and last night they came for a visit. I am very interested in my genealogy, so it was great fun.

They picked the hottest day to come for a visit too, it reached about 32 degrees Celsius yesterday. I like it warm, but not that warm!

Yay, it's the weekend. Enjoy yours!

I love that wedding sampler, I look forward to receiving it soon. In fact I love it so much I may stitch it twice (once for me!!) It's nice to meet new relatives through genealogy, I do alot of 'family history' searching too.

Hi Rowyn,

Wow...two finishes in one post.
You have been busy haven't you?

The Wedding Sampler turned out
beautifully, didn't it? I love
the swirly border and the letter-
ing is stitched in such a pretty
shade of blue. Do you know how
you'd like to finish it??

And Autumn Splendor is gorgeous.
I've forgotten how big this is
size wise, but it doesn't look
too big. Nice for a pin keep
perhaps?? It really is a nice design. The colour changes in
the thread really make the designs/motifs show up well.

Good luck with the Mirabilia
Sal. Your piece looks wonderful
and you've got such a lot done
on her already. It'll almost
be like starting a new project
since you haven't stitched on
it for so long.

Cheers!

Hi Rowyn...I am supposed to have started work by now...but am so excited that I can comment on peoples blogs after months of not being able too. Wedding Row looks beautiful (I just love Bent Creek LOL) and so does Autumn Splendour.
Hope the wedding plans are still going well. Great you are joinging a SAL...a good motivator.

I love your wedding sampler :) I think your WIP of Damask Roses is gorgeous. It's one of my favourite Mira's and that that it should be the next Mirabilia I start.
